The following is an explanation of situations that can occur in churches and Christian gatherings around Christmas that can be triggering for survivors of satanic ritual abuse. That is, aspects of the situation strongly remind them of traumatic events in the cult, whereby the corresponding strong feelings (e.g. fear) are experienced again - more or less consciously.
- Advent (also a time of preparation for Christmas in the cult), because the emphatic anticipation of Christmas reminds victims even more of what has and will take place in the cult.
- The lighting of the Advent candles on Sunday (often done by children who read a poem with it), because it is a double reminder of the child sacrifices that have taken place and will take place in the cult.
- The overwhelming presence of candles in the aisles, on the squares, etc. (often with the Christmas Eve service), because they are also used massively on cult nights.
- Glory be to God, because among other things the cult tries to 'undo' the words of this song by worshipping Satan and offering child sacrifices. The reason why this song evokes so much hatred in the cult is because this song comes directly from God Himself and was sung by His angels.
- The story of the infanticide in Bethlehem.
